Beginning Sunday, December 6, 2020, SAMLARC Playgrounds will be closed, in compliance with the State’s new Regional Stay at Home Order. While the Board of Directors is disappointed to close the playgrounds, compliance with the State’s mandate is imperative.
The California Department of Public Health announced on December 3, 2020 the implementation of a Regional Stay at Home Order to mitigate an anticipated surge in COVID-19 cases across the state. The Order divides the state into five (5) regions, to track total Intensive Care Unit capacity. If a region’s ICU capacity drops below 15%, the Regional Stay at Home Order will be triggered within the next twenty-four (24) hours and remain in place for three (3) weeks. Orange County has been assigned to the Southern California Region, whose ICU capacity dropped to 12.5% on December 5, 2020.
As family leaders and part of the SAMLARC community, each Board Director understands the frustration that the State’s Order may present to young families. Thank you for your continued partnership as SAMLARC continues to navigate through this season, supporting public health and community connection.
