The SAMLARC Story
The Rancho Santa Margarita Landscape and Recreation Corporation (SAMLARC) is the largest master homeowners association within the city of Rancho Santa Margarita. The specific and primary purpose of SAMLARC is to provide community services and facilities for the benefit of homeowners within the community and preserve the value, desirability, and attractiveness of all properties within SAMLARC. SAMLARC’s mission is to perpetuate a positive, reputable and distinct identity for the SAMLARC community while maintaining a reasonable assessment fee.
Founded in 1986, SAMLARC is one of the largest master homeowners associations in California, representing 13,645 units, 13 community parks, 4 pools, the Beach Club Lagoon, and the Lago Santa Margarita. In addition, SAMLARC hosts a number of exciting community events each season including Wine & Cheese, the 4th of July Star Spangled Spectacular, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration and more!
SAMLARC cares for, provides security for and maintains all common areas, parks, pools and recreational amenities owned by the Corporation. SAMLARC is also responsible for regulating aesthetics of homes within SAMLARC to maintain and enhance property values. SAMLARC is committed to maintaining a fresh community aesthetic using influences from the Mediterranean region of Spain, Italy and France to create a comfortable and appealing design. The Mediterranean architecture of the homes in SAMLARC is complemented by a residential paint palette and landscape standards that represent the beauty of the Mediterranean region.
SAMLARC is commonly confused with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, but these two entities are entirely separate from one another. SAMLARC cares for, provides security for and maintains all common areas, parks, pools and recreational amenities owned by SAMLARC. SAMLARC is also responsible for regulating aesthetics of homes within SAMLARC to maintain and enhance property values.
SAMLARC is governed by a seven member Board of Directors, with staggered two year terms and elected by its Members. The Board of Directors' duties and obligations to the Corporation are articulated in the SAMLARC Governing Documents (CC&Rs and Articles of Incorporation). The SAMLARC Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lago Santa Margarita Beach Club Fiesta Room unless otherwise noted. Please note that you must be a SAMLARC Member to attend.
