Homemade Ice Cream

As we practice social distancing, SAMLARC would like to invite you to connect with the community virtually through our daily activities! Take what you have in the kitchen and create! SAMLARC will be sharing a fun recipe that you can try using common items found in the kitchen pantries.

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt



Step 1 Put all of your ice cream ingredients into a small bag and smoosh it around to mix well. Fill your larger bag about 1/3 of the way full of ice and add 2 tablespoons of the salt. Put in your ice cream bag and add enough ice to cover. Seal the bag.


Step 2 Shake the dickens out of it for 10 minutes. Wear gloves because it’ll get cold.


Step 3 Remove small bag from large bag and either scoop into cones or squeeze into bowls, and garnish as desired.
