The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on the evening of May 26, 2020. Due to recent declarations from the State of California and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the physical assembly of the Board of Directors meetings was not feasible to accomplish while maintaining proper social distancing measures. In order to protect public health while continuing to support SAMLARC operations, the Board of Directors held a virtual Open Session Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. The Board of Directors took action on the following items during the May 26, 2020 Open Session Meeting:
Provided the COVID-19 Board Executive Committee with direction regarding the facilitation of the SAMLARC July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular event.
All consent calendar items were approved, including:
Authorization of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement services on SAMLARC property.
As recommended by the Landscape and Facilities Enhancement Committee, approval of the 2020 projects schedule. The schedule includes: parking lot repairs, reconditioning of park infields, sports field turf reconditioning, and installation of LED fixtures at tennis and basketball courts.
As recommended by the LFEC, approval of repairs at Monte Vista Pool deck to ensure the facility is able to reopen once government restrictions are lifted.
As recommended by the LFEC, approval of a routine “Drill and Fill” procedure at Trabuco Mesa and Tijeras Creek Parks to promote healthy turf growth.
Approval of usage agreements with Capistrano and Saddleback Valley Unified School Districts for the use of Trabuco Mesa, Arroyo Vista, and Tijeras Creek Parks during the 2020-2021 school year.
Cancellation of the 2020 Patriotic T-Shirt Painting event due to gathering restrictions and to protect public health by slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Approval of the 2019 SAMLARC tax returns for filing to the State and Federal Government.
