The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting on the evening of September 22, 2020. Due to restrictions placed by the State of California and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the physical assembly of the Board of Directors meeting was not feasible to accomplish while maintaining proper social distancing measures. In order to protect public health while continuing to support SAMLARC operations, the Board of Directors held a virtual Open Session Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. The Board of Directors took action on the following items during the September 22, 2020 Open Session Meeting.
As recommended by the Community Lifestyle Committee, approved three (3) Halloween activities to encourage Members to enjoy the holiday in fun and safe ways. These activities include:
Traveling Trick or Treat (October 31): Members are invited to dress up, decorate their cars, and visit the SAMLARC Beach Club as well as local businesses and various restaurants to receive treats & trinkets!
Halloween Home Decorating Contest (October 17 – November 1): Members are invited to decorate their homes for Halloween! A custom map with participating houses will be posted online, along with photos of each house. Members are encouraged to vote for their favorite houses, with prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd most popular houses.
Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest (Photo submissions due October 25, vote for favorites from October 26 – November 1): Members and children are invited to participate in a festive virtual pumpkin decorating contest! Members may submit photos of their pumpkins for a virtual “pumpkin patch” and vote for their favorites online. Prizes will be given for adults (16 years and older) and children.
