With the holiday season fast approaching, the SAMLARC Board of Directors encourages Members to do their part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Friends and families will experience a unique holiday season in 2020 – one that balances family connection and public safety. As SAMLARC continues to monitor and respond appropriately to federal, state, and local government requirements regarding COVID-19, operations and traditions must shift to comply, while bringing holiday cheer to the community.
Holiday Stroll ‘Round the Lake
Beginning Friday, November 27, 2020, the Lakeshore will be illuminated for a beautiful Holiday Stroll ‘Round the Lake! More than eighty-five (85) trees will glow with holiday lights to guide your way around the Lake. A special seasonal playlist will be available for you to enjoy during your stroll – simply scan the signs around the Lakeshore with your smartphone to begin! In partnership with Ron Evans Realty, Moonwood Coffee Co. will also offer hot cocoa, coffee, and sweet treats for purchase on the first three (3) Fridays in December: 12/4, 12/11, and 12/18!
2-Way Pedestrian Traffic at Lakeshore
After considering feedback from the Membership, 2-way pedestrian traffic has been reinstated at the Lakeshore. Bidirectional traffic ensures that families can safely circle the entirety of the Lakeshore, or shorten their walk as needed, due to ability or desire. The flow of traffic is clearly marked with arrows as well as a line to demarcate the two lanes. Please stay on the right side of the path, and be considerate of other community members by maintaining a 6 ft distance as well as wearing a face covering.
Though COVID-19 continues to affect all facets of life, the Board of Directors recognizes the value in cultivating community during this time of year. Members are invited to participate in the Virtual Tree Lighting, the Holiday Home Decorating Competition, and the Holiday Stroll ‘Round the Lake – all of which help build bright memories throughout this season in a safe and merry manner.
