California Releases New Guidance to Help Counties Plan for Localized Reopenings

On June 5, 2020, the California Department of Public Health issued new guidelines for reopening additional sectors of the economy. Two of the sectors, Fitness Facilities and Outdoor Recreation, include guidance for reopening pools. Though neither document specifically references HOAs, they do include guidance regarding pool reopening practices that may be adopted by local agencies. These activities may only be undertaken once approval is received from the County Health Officer, and no sooner than June 12, 2020.

More information on California's COVID-19 guidance is available on the California Department of Public Health Guidance Documents webpage. This guidance speaks to the re-opening of sectors such as campgrounds, hotels, family entertainment centers, museums, and more.
