Youth Sports Practices at SAMLARC

The SAMLARC Board of Directors looks forward to welcoming young athletes and sports partners back to SAMLARC facilities. The County of Orange issued a Press Release on June 15, 2020 stating that youth sports practices may begin under the State’s COVID-19 Industry Guidance: Day Camps. The Guidance outlines the necessary protocols for organizations to safely conduct practices, including rigorous sanitation, participant limitations, physical distancing, and the size and stability of group practice. At this time, neither the State nor County have released a timeline for the inclusion of games and/or spectators.

SAMLARC is proud to partner with several local youth sports organizations, including: Santa Margarita Little League (SMLL), Rancho Trabuco Girls Softball Association (RTGSA), Santa Margarita Pop Warner Football & Cheer, AYSO Region 630, RSM Arena Soccer, RSM team Tennis, and OC Rebels Lacrosse. SAMLARC’s partnership with these organizations reflects Members’ investment in helping children and young adults foster a love for sports, sportsmanship, and an active lifestyle.

In alignment with the County’s requirements, SAMLARC is issuing practice-only permits to organizations that have submitted “Return to Play” plans. As of June 29, 2020, SMLL, RSM Team Tennis, and RSM Arena Soccer have submitted plans to SAMLARC. These plans address participant capacity, social distancing protocols, training of staff, coaches and players, and are generally guided by the organizations’ national offices. SAMLARC is currently working with the other leagues to submit plans.

The below leagues have begun practice at SAMLARC facilities. No games will be permitted.
