The SAMLARC Board of Directors held their monthly meeting, virtually, on the evening of April 27, 2021. Homeowners may access the Open Session and Executive Session Agendas for the meeting and corresponding Open Session Board Agenda Reports through the Homeowner Portal which can be accessed HERE.
The Board of Directors took action on the following items during the April 27, 2021 Open Session Meeting.
Approved hosting SAMLARC’s July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular event, should government requirements permit. The event is anticipated to be held with modifications to comply with local, state and federal COVID-19 restrictions. Additional details will be published at SAMLARC.org/July-4th in June.
As recommended by the Community Lifestyle Committee, approved a SAMLARC Ambassador volunteer program to encourage Members to enhance community events and engagement. Members interested in sharing their skills with the community and extending SAMLARC’s small-town warmth to SAMLARC lifestyle program participants are invited to learn more at SAMLARC.org/volunteer.
Appointed Directors to serve on SAMLARC Committees and as Board liaisons in specific capacities for the period of March 23, 2021 to the first Board Meeting following the 2022 Board of Directors Election. The composition of Committee and Liaison appointments is available HERE.
Declared opposition to SB9 (Statewide Rezoning of Single-Family Neighborhoods & Urban Parcel Splits), which eliminates local government (and subsequently local homeowners associations’) control of single-family housing conditions in favor of increased housing density. The Board also approved the signing of a white paper prepared by the Communities for Responsible Development, which articulates opposition to Senate Bill 9 and affirms the necessity of local control of housing conditions.

Appointment of the 2022 SAMLARC Election Committee, comprised of Director Robert Louvar (Chair), Member William Cather, and Member Greg Wieckert.
As recommended by the Community Lifestyle Committee, the 2021 Great Rancho Campout event to be held August 6-7 at Trabuco Mesa Park.
A variety of work authorizations for the ongoing maintenance of SAMLARC assets, as well as contracts with professional service providers to execute maintenance.
