The SAMLARC Board Executive Committee Related to COVID-19 met on June 3, 2020 to discuss SAMLARC’s operations during the COVID-19 period. The Committee is chartered to direct operations regarding SAMLARC’s responses to the Coronavirus as it impacts the Association. The Committee took action on the following items during the June 3 Meeting:
In light of State, County, and City restrictions regarding large-scale gatherings and event permits, moved to reschedule the July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular event and fireworks display. The event and display are to be rescheduled to the Labor Day holiday weekend or a date prior to January 1, 2021 (government requirements and contract addendum permitting). SAMLARC will host a Stars & Stripes Celebration over the week of July 4th that includes activities that promote patriotic spirit and safe social distancing.
Approved, when State and County orders permit, the re-opening of the four (4) SAMLARC Pools in accordance with identified restrictions and in limited capacity. Information on the re-opening procedures will be published at SAMLARC.org as it develops.
Approved the issuance of permits to SAMLARC Youth Sports League partners to begin conducting sports league activities when leagues’ national organization directives, State Orders, and County Mandate permit.
Approved unrestricted use of the SAMLARC tennis and pickleball courts beginning June 6, 2020 at currently open courts, with the remaining courts to be opened once they have been readied for play.
Directed contract class instructors to submit operations plans that demonstrate compliance with County and State regulations for Corporate Counsel and Board review prior to recommencing classes.
Approved the recommencement of select contract classes that are able to be facilitated with restrictions that comply with State and County regulations during COVID-19. These classes include but are not limited to: Stroller Strides, Yoga in the Park, Sweet Spot Tennis, Soccer Shots, AYTE Tennis & Pickleball, and Volley OC. Information on the contract classes, including modifications to facilitation, equipment, or payment, will be published at SAMLARC.org as it develops.
Approved the following actions until the State of California and County of Orange Health Care Agency lift orders:
The Executive Committee shall act upon all Community Lifestyle events, programs, classes, workshops, and activities
All facility use permits, and special use permits are suspended, and no new permits for facility use will be issued
Facility closures and restricted use of facilities shall remain in effect. This includes, but is not limited to, Lagoon, Beach Club, pools, and par course
